If the player ignores his plea, they're explicitly taking control of Frisk and putting them into a situation that even the game's main antagonist thinks is wrong. He brings up Frisk, asking the player to let them live their life. In Undertale, if a player completes the true pacifist ending but opens the game back up, the primary antagonist Flowey appears and begs them not to start a new game. It's also made very clear that Kris is aware of the player's presence and isn't happy about it, tearing out their own soul – the player's vessel – at the ends of both Deltarune chapters so they can act on their own. With this more detailed past comes a more detailed personality: other characters describe Kris as mischievous and quiet, and when on a more positive route, several characters act surprised at how sociable they're being. Kris has a deeper backstory than Frisk, being a human raised among monsters who is very close to their adoptive brother Asriel and who has known the townsmonsters all their life. And more than anything else, they have a determination so strong that it can warp reality and let them travel to the past whenever they die. Despite their stony facial expression they can match Mettaton's stage presence, implying a hammy side. They're very flirty for a child, even willing to hit on Toriel. The various "act" options can be used to deduce Frisk's pre-possession character. However, if one interprets the various dialogue and action options (and in Kris' case, some actions during cutscenes) as the kids' actual thoughts and feelings, a personality can be put together for both of them – which only makes the idea that the player has stolen their autonomy even more disturbing. The player's possession of Frisk and Kris is implied to be not entirely consensual, so the characters' true personalities are hard to figure out.
